Default Mesa Tackle Stick Worm

Well, I have to say I am starting to get attached to Gilbert's Stick Worms.
In yesterday's Desert Bass tournament I didn't weigh in any fish, but I
caught three small fish. All on wacky rigged stick worms. I didn't get a
solid bite on anything else. I threw some Zoom U-tails, and lots of spinner
baits. I cranked cliff faces and underwater timber.

Semi protected deeper pockets with stick worms was the only bite I found. I
think that is what I will spend my time on next weekend in the Bassmaster.

Hey Gilbert, can you rush me some 4" smoke sparkle shad stick worms? Maybe
some in that custom color I suggested for that fluke style jerk bait?

Nope, you shoukld have seenmy first negative review before I learn how to
fish a stick worm. I'm not saying its not an option, but not until I won't
even ask anybody until I have won a few tournaments. I have a 4th, a big
fish, a 3rd and a 2nd so far. Not bad for 2003, my first year fishing
tournaments, but its not what I would consider a pro staff qualifier for
anybody.

I do give away a lot of his stuff to people I think would appreciate it
though, and Gilbert has gone out of his way to get stuff to me a couple
times.

I used to mix & pour my own soft plastics, and thought that I was pretty
good. I have since seen and used some of Gilbert's, and realized what a
total rookie I was. He is an artist.

I am only on the SWL Pro Staff (the other members were nice enough to let me
join).

Bob, isn't it true that you have come in first place and won big fish honors
in every bass tournament in which you have competed? There's not a single
pro on any tour who can approach that percentage.
