P-Line Flour Clear

So far so good.

As I am sure I might hae mentioned once or twice. I like spinning tackle
for everything except pitching and flipping. I even do so flippin' with it
if the brush isn;t horrible.

Anyway, I have been looking for a good monofilament for my spinning tackle
for bassin'. I like Trilene XL for most htings, but it doesn't hold up well
to hostile use in trees and rock. It is a great line for panfish, and small
trout, but for anything rough it just doesn't hold up. Trilene XT is pretty
good, but it is unmanagable soemtimes and always loops off a spinning reel
when its first spooled on. Its pretty thick as lines today go. It is
thinner than the "Hawk" generic lines of my childhood.

Then I tried Spiderline Super Mono XX. Very thin. Holds up well to
abrasion. Downright losuy knot strength though. 12lb Super Mono is the
size of 6lb line from almost anybody else. It seemed like a good idea, but
it crapped out in the real world (Or real world if you prefer.)

I decided I needed to step up my strenght a hair for day to day use so I
started looking at 15 lb lines. I just spooled up four Pflueger spinning
reels with 15lb P-Line Flouro Clear. I haven't fished with it yet, but I
will this weekend. This is what I have noticed and conjecture so far.

1. It did not jump off the reel when I spooled it up. (low memory?)

2. It is tough to cut between my teeth. (High abrasion resistance?)

3. I can't see it below the water when I test it in the swimming pool.
(Low visibility in water?)

4. It the same size as twelve pound Trilene XT. (Lower diameter?)

5. I tested knot strength by tieing on a swivel and pulling it with a
pair of pliers. The line cut into my hand and the knot did not break.
(good knot strength?)

I guess because of its size I should be able to use it well on rods and reel
rated for 12lb line.

I am hoping because of its low visibility and higher density I can use it
place of smaller lines for semi-finnesse applications like tossing wacky
stick worms.

I am hoping it is tough enoguh that I can throw spinner baits through
standing timber without having to retie every few casts.

I have it spooled on 40 size Pflueger spinning reels. If I like the way it
fishes I may try some 10 or 12 lb on my 30 size reels. Or some 8 on my 20
size reels for panfish and stocker trout.

After I have fished the stuff atleast a half dozen times I will post my
opinion on the reviews page of my website along with my initial impression
above.

Here in Indiana it is a popular line for river fishing for the reasons
you so well stated. Hope it works out good for you.

What type of Pflueger reels do you use? Have you tried the new
president yet? Whats your take on them?

I have several Pflueger Trions and I just bought Some Pflueger Supremes that
were on close out.

The supremes look like a fancified version of the Trion. I like them so
far. Since they are on their first season on the water I don't know how
well they will hold up yet.

Much better balanced for lower end price spinning reel than most. It
doesn't pulse in your hand when you are really cranking it.
