Woo Woo! Its the Dog Days of Winter and I got a good case of flies in the
mail. Along with a rude cartoon supposedly depicting my chosen profession in a less than wonderful light and, last but not least, a special set of Australian marital aides. Cool beans! Thanks Tim. I'll put the Aussie Ticklers to good use. Great day in the Reid household 'cause my wife's final Xmas present (a 90 minute video of the "Best of Bobby Orr") also arrived from Canuckistan. Will discuss more on the flies when I find my glasses that are around here someplace. -- Frank Reid Reverse email to reply |

Frank, I think you'd better peruse that video before handing it over -- sounds like Canuckistanni chick hockey porn to me . . . . When Canuckistanni women yell, "He Shoots! Along with a rude cartoon supposedly depicting my chosen profession in a less than wonderful light For those without telepathetic abilities, http://css.sbcma.com/timj/pics/security.jpg . Frank is the one with the coffee. and, last but not least, a special set of Australian marital aides. I hope you don't mind, Tony, but I passed some of the emu feathers on to Frank. Very interesting feathers, and I've never tied anything calling for emu, so I thought I'd have the guy with the vivid imagination come up with a few. We may have you in the feather export business in the near future. ![]() Cool beans! Thanks Tim. Really, it's my pleasure. I find these small swaps to be very therapeutic, and this batch is so varied and well-tied that it made it all the more fun. Today a trip to the post office is in order to mail off the flies to Petah, Tony, and Eddie. Once the USPS figures out how to do international shipping online, it won't be so much of a problem. Right now, all they have available online are the super-expensive methods. -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |

Its Orr with a bunch of unknowns (was this Espo guy one of the Montreal Espo's?) with this teenager deakin' the opposition out of their skates. Brenda repeatedly commented on some bimbette physical therapist who ruined her chances with him. -- Frank Reid Euthanize to reply |

I know just the lake for that crawdad pattern, and I'm thinking a few others will work at specific places. I'm also seeing some ideas for tying in ways that I've not tried. The egg sack that Svend put on over a small piece of floss looks great. The Brown trout weamer is calling some big browns in Eastern Oregon. There is a reminder that I need to get some starling, experiment with that darn hare foot I bought, wishing I had such fine red wire as on the lightening bug, and some chartreuse ultra chenille, wondering if Chris' fly would pull a shad as well as trout? The business card by Big Dale takes the best label award, and the ant will scare something up. Somehow Mr. Weall knew on the Deschutes many say any color will work, as long as it is purple or black. I think the marmot purple bugger would work well on Davis lake. I don't know but Eddies Crow looks like a sea run cutt might be tempted with a twitch and strip there. Both the Twisted hackle and the super pupa call out for some frogs fanny next summer, and that green weenie should pull out something from a Central Oregon stream. I have many plans to make to put these flies to work. |

I rec'd my flies today (took me a while to get to the post office, been
fighting the flu). They arrived safely and again I feel like a man bringing a sandwich to a banquet. Very nice flies by everyone...I wish my tying was up to the standard that everyone else has set. Chris |

Mine arrived a while ago, but I've only just now had time to look
through them carefully..... .... apparently I was the only person not to receive the memo asking that the flies be works of art, suitable for framing..... .... a number of sure-fire fish-catchers in here too..... Thanks to all for the flies, and to Tim for a job well done. JR |
