We should plan a one day bass outing this spring, we do have like 5
lakes that offer a early bass season.

would you explain the "season" to me? i am always catch and release, but

Some States allow catch and release during the closed "season" others do
not, Some States don't have a "season: you can fish for and keep bass year round.. you need to check the regulations for the State/States you fish..
