![]() "Bob La Londe" wrote in message ... I've fished in sub freezing temps. Good cold weather gear can really make it a decent experience. No matter what keep your feet warm and dry. The coldest I've ever fished from a boat in was 17 degrees with a 25 mph wind from the north. The first lake I went to, I launched the boat through ice, but within 50 yards, had the Cobra stuck on top of the ice when it got so thick the boat wouldn't break through any more. At that point, I had to put the boat back on the trailer and go find a different lake where the wind was beating at the landing and there was no ice. We caught fish that day, but it was tough going and reels didn't last much more than an hour before they froze solid! I went through every reel in the boat before the guys called it a day. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |
