Default Photos from Finnish photographers

Just heard of a web site with photographs from miscellaneous
(amateur?) Finnish photographers. There were some really good ones in
there, and I thought you might enjoy them. (The texts are in Finnish,
sorry.)

The photograph that has been voted the best by the viewers is this
one:

http://aukea.net/mp/db/Teos/yksi/?K=...&NRO=1&AINOA=1

An amazing shot! The text says that it has been "digitally enhanced",
but then the photographer explains that all he has done is that he has
cropped a bit of the picture from the right and the left side. No
other enhancements.

The complete list of best shots is here (if you follow one of the
links and end up on a page with only text in it, then follow the link
"Näyttelyyn" on that page to see the photos):

http://aukea.net/mp/static/arkisto/?...&NAYTA=PARHAAT

As far as I could see, very few of the photos have been digitally
enhanced (except for the obvious ones, like in a case where the
background has been made black and white). The first picture in the
collection "Kiljukaulat" had been created by joining two different
photographs.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

eerily reminiscent of my second wife's visage on those rare occasions
that i stayed too late at fisher's bar and grill...

The composition in most of those photos is fantastic. My favorite (and
it was really hard to pick just one) is http://tinyurl.com/3rq4t .
Thanks for the tour, Jarmo.

TL,

that's nice, no doubt; but you ought to check out the work of our very
own prince of wales, billy grey, at his site. which, of course, i can't
tell you how to access.

I liked all the previously mentioned as well as the first shot in the
sequence on reindeer. At 28.8 baud, it slowly emerged on my screen as
something that might have been a pattern on fabric, a large piece of
rock, or an abstract. When it finally got to the lower areas and
foreground, I was almost disappointed.

Good Lord, but does that owl look like Forty -- still trying to figure
out the mouse . . . . .
