Hi,

Been lurking out here in the shadows for a short while reading posts but
wanted to find out if there's any people in here in northern Maryland that
fly fish? I'm sure there are but, seems most on these list servers seem to
be geared for waters out west of the Mississippi. Sucks that i'm just
getting into fly fishing here in Maryland since I just moved back here from
Falcon, Colorado in late '01. Seems all the blue ribbon fishing waters are
out there and i'm not! Nevertheless, i'm going to make the best of it and
try to find some good spots out here to get my heels wet.

First off, any suggestions on what flies to begin learning how to tie here
in Carrol/Frederick Counties. Not educated on any of the hatches of local
streams here but would like to learn, what to stock my box(es) up with. I'm
sure the wooly buggers are a must have but, wet? dry...? Was reading in FR&R
that wool style fly's are pretty easy, forgiving and cheap for the aspiring
newbie.

Second, I can drive an hour or so in any direction to get to some prime
fishing but don't know of much other than, I believe it's called Beaver
Creek, just off of Rt 66 between Frederick and Hagerstown. And there's a
catch and release south of me on Rt 94 (Patuxent or Patapsco?). Not limited
to Trout either...Bass...whatever...

Sorry for the Novel....thanks in advance...
