All of the smallies I have caught have been a deep golden bronze like the
ones in these pictures http://tinyurl.com/6yobs but the ones I have seen caught on the river were all pale with distinctive markings. Almost spotted like a crappie except paler of course. What do the smallies you catch look like. -- ** Public Fishing and Boating Forums ** www.YumaBassMan.com |

Most of the ones I catch on St. Clair or Erie are kind of pale but not all of them. Many of the ones I catch "up north" seem to be darker with more defined stripes. |
