Sorry, lost your name and the post, but I wanted to thank you. Take care, Dan What's this? Cocktail Straws used how? I posted a question here a few weeks ago about hackle guards -- whether they work, etc. Someone suggested taking a small part of a cocktail straw and sliding it from the bobbin over the hook, holding the hackle and wings back so the fly can be finished without "munging" the hackle in the finish. Works very, very well. Especially on those 18 and smaller hooks where I never quite get the placement right to allow for a really neat head. Dan |
