I've got a pile of quality rods, each of which needs either a new guide or
two, or a tiptop. I know I have generous offers from a few of you to repair these for me, and I really appreciate that! But I want to learn to do these minor repairs myself. No fancy wraps or anything like that, no fancy anything. I need the best source for quality guides, thread, etc at good prices. I need to know the best types to use, etc. What kind of equiptment will I need to do this on my workbench? A guide/tiptop repair primer would do me a bunch of good, many thanks! Warren |

Use the Gudebrod thead in what ever color you need and FLEX COAT LITE ROD WRAPPING FINISH. To measure your tip size... TIP GAUGE Product # TG . . . $6.59 This is actually pretty easy to do yourself. Just takes time and attention cause the rod will need to be turned about every fifteen minutes to prevent the finish from dripping or sagging. You can do it this way, or Joe's way below. Take some dental floss, wrap it around the foot a few times and seal it with some of your wifes clear fingernail polish. Either way you have a functional rod when you are finished.
