A newly acquired reel - bought used. The reel does not seem to
function properly. The spool will not turn when the handle is cranked either in the "on" position or any other position. Two levers - one switches from "on" to "free", another lever for "drag" to "off". If the reel has a unique mode of operation please let me know. Thank you. Frank |

To wind in the line, the top lever should be set to "on" and the star wheel
should be turned clockwise (looking at the side of the reel) to tighten the drag. The other lever, toward the rear of the reel selects anti-reverse ("on") or no anti-reverse ("drag"). Sounds as if you either have have a problem with the top lever or your drag is not set (with the star wheel) or some other problem in the drag adjustment area.
