I am looking for a source of enamel model paint to use in making bass
poppers, but I can't find any that supply chartreuse as a color selection. Anybody have a source for me? I am attempting to tie up some of these: http://www.questoutdoors.net/skills/...pwater/sneaky/ Thanks |

By the way, how are you doing these days? Chris I've been using Cabela's jig dipping paint with great success on foam poppers. You need to have a fly/rod turning rig to rotate them while they dry so it comes out even. Another option that has worked well for me is using testor's model paint and then dipping the poppers in softex or one of the other clear "soft" body treatments. The benefit of the latter method is you can put those nice stick on eyes on and then overcoat them with the softex and it'll keep them in place through much abuse. Fly |

Another suggestion would be to use fabric paint such as Plaid or Tulip
brands. I know they have a color that is close to chartreuse. Also the paint doesn't sag while drying so you don't have to use a turner. A local tier in North Carolina, Anthony Hipps, did a program for our TU chapter on his Hipps Softbody Poppers and that is what he uses. He then puts a coat of acrylic gloss urethane on it. That does require turning to prevent sags. -John "Flyfish" wrote in message 7.142... "Padishar Creel" wrote in : "Stan Gula" wrote in message news:l1Fje.13954$_f7.10959@trndny01...
