Made it up to the Current for a few days this week. Caught a potful
(around 20) browns and rainbows. Early morning: PMDs Later Morning - olive/brown nymphs, ants/beetles (under trees), afternoon: Anything Olive (BWO, Wolly Buggers, Olive Caddis), Crackle-backs, Later: Elk-Hair Caddis (size didn't seem to matter). Fished from Baptist Access to about 2 miles down-river. Canoeists started in Th. Morning - already bombed and getting stuck on every obstacle. Made fishing difficult, as I positioned myself more to watch them tip than to fish. But damned entertaining. Saw a boatload of wildlife. 85 degrees, sunny, perfect. Those of you with access to other streams may scoff, but the Current is about as good as it gets in this part of the world. Got pictures, too, if anyone wants to see them. Have a great weekend, everyone! |
