Default Fly Fishing mag?

I'm thinking of getting a subscription to a fly fishing mag, as the
booksellers here don't carry any. I want one that has destinations
(preferably in this neck of the woods more than in North America),
various fly patterns and some gear chat. I suspect they all have the
latter two, but its the first one that interests me.

Any recommendations?

I don't know of any, but for English language magazines with destinations on
your side of the world I'd check out Australian ones.

Mike,
You beat me to it. That magazine is one of the most wonderful
magazines in the world, period. Writing, photography and editing are
beyond reproach. Additonally, though they are anglocentric, the do
cater to the traveling fisherman.

Yep, best angling magazine I ever had, and at one time or another I had most
of them. Excepting some of the American mags.

I would agree with the rest of the folks. It is a great magazine and
well written. Can't ask for any better. I am also curious about any
magazines from your part of the world. I am planning a fly fishing trip
to New Zealand.

good luck,
Laurie Heupel

Sorry body it is unoriginal but they are right!

FF & FT is the best I have come across. see

Plaisir de la Peche was a delight but it went bust earlier in the year.

I don't know about destination per mag....but if you want I'd be glad to
send you all of the old mags I have laying around, maybe 15 or 20....?

I'd be happy to take you up on that, John. A Foreign subscrition to
Flyfishing and Flytying is about US$110 per year, for 10 issues. I
think a boxload of back issues of old mags would satisfy my reading
lust, and an occasional purchase of FF&FT would give me the info I want
on destinations.

Email me directly, and lets arrange it, if you are willing. Of course,
I'll reimburse you all your costs. Thank you!

It's my pleasure. I'm one of those people who are doomed in their scientific
approach. I buy the books but all I read is the covers!

john - you've got mail
