This won't be a long post, I just want to comment on how pathetic
B.A.S.S has become. For some reason now they enforce some "Sportsmanship" rules! What about Swindell driving up in his boat and yelling at someone that he thinks is on a spot he found?????? How is that any better than what Iaconnelli did yesterday? This is why my dream of fishing professionally for B.A.S.S is gone. It isn't even the same as it was 3 years ago. Since ESPN bought it, it has gone even further down hill than when Scott sold it. I didn't think so at first, I thought big money would finally put this sport into the highlight, and it did that, but in a Soap Opera kind of way. Iaconnelli is the bad guy, Swindell is the funny guy, Brauer is the old guy, Van Dam is the Wiz kid, Martens the almost guy, and then Clunn the mystic. Screw B.A.S.S , screw everything about them. If you want to break sh*t on your boat, go ahead, who cares, it is emotion. 2 fish died in his livewell. They reviewed tapes, and because of all the negative publicity Iaconnelli gets, and they (ESPN/B.A.S.S) of course facilitate and push. If KVD kicked his trolling motor off his boat (don't get me wrong I love KVD) , being defending champ, they would definitely not have disqualified him. Iaconnelli is marked, and I guarantee they spin this even more negatively about him! I hope he comes out and catches 50lbs today and shoves it up their.........explitive deleted. I am so mad right now, it hurts to see a dream turn into a complete joke. Good thing there is competition out there all is not lost. All the media outlets are the same, ESPN didn't have to go this direction, but it is what sells to the masses. Oh well, I am going to go catch some steelhead! Chris |

I think the spin on this case will probably go in the direction of the "bad
language" he supposedly used at some of the people around him, especially if there were any kids around. B.A.S.S. has been affected negatively by the ESPN folks in my opinion too.So much so that my renewal came last week in the mail and I pitched it immediately.I still have my first ever member card from 1987 and was a "proud member".WAS. I personally think a stiff fine would have been a better way to go.
There has to be some kind of penelty for swearing up a storm and throwing a fit on national t.v. Can you imagine the size of the fine if Peyton Manning or Randy Moss went off like that in front of the camera & fans?? |

The only time any kind of fine or penalty is issued is if a player goes off on, or flips off, a fan. There's a lot more colorful language on an NFL sideline than what Ike used. .. I can't believe no-one is upset about him culling a dead or dying fish.
That'll get you the death penalty in most any circuit I've ever fished. In addition to showing total disdain for the resource, it's also cheating, pure and simple. By culling a dead or soon-to-be-dead fish, he evaded the dead fish penalty he had already earned by not turning on the air pumps. By his own admission, there were 4 dead fish in the well. He only weighed in two. |

All I know is if I was living the "Dream" to fish for a living, I would take
up words like darnit, dang, shucks& jeez,, then again I would have held my dying fish to the sky and yelled "Why him, He was so young" and then maybe tried some cpr on the deck :-) -- www.wermieerniebaits.com Making fish regret their decision on a daily basis "Thundercat" wrote in message ... On problem Rich is it must not have been against the rules. With the
other incident it was a judgment call by B.A.S.S officials. As for swearing, What about Jim Bitter??????? Chris RichZ wrote: I can't believe no-one is upset about him culling a dead or dying fish.
