I think Bowman creek is the closest with good hatches. Only fished it once
or twice and didn't do too well, but was quite some time ago. I hear the
Lackawaxen is real good but not as close. You may pass by close if you are
coming via North Jersey (across 80 or above). Good fishing where 80 crosses
the turnpike too, even if you come down from New York, this isn't too far if
you are staying near 80 or the turnpike in the Scranton area.

Here's a good link for that area:

If you are coming down from New York, the Delaware river can be tough but
premium fish: http://www.mayfly.com/update2.htm

Have lots more detail from the log, and the bible. Let me know if you want
more info.

There are a couple of creeks in PA called Fishing Creek. One of
them is 30 miles west of Scranton, near Benton, PA. Of the few
streams I've fished near Scranton, I liked Fishing Creek the
most.
