Howell Raines was on Colbert yesterday (Monday?) and it is a fairly
interesting interview.

As well as his "Fly Fishing Through the Midlife Crisis," Raines has more
recently penned "The One That Got Away."

Yeah, I watched that interview yesterday. I don't stay up late enough to
catch the original show, but I try to catch the next day's show. I was
surprised, Colbert usually interrupts his guest a great deal more than he
did Raines. Colbert really seemed to enjoy that interview.

Personally, I think the Colbert Report is the BOMB! Kicks the Daily Show to
****.

I'm about halfway through it, it's a decent read. Not as good as his first
book but decent nonetheless.

I liked the interview, but flyfishing as a metaphor is so 1990's. He
loses his job at the NYT (deservedly so, IMO) and he loses a big marlin
at Christmas Island. Boo ****ing hoo.

It seems that "A River Runs Through it" and "Big Two Hearted River" were
written decades before the '90's!
