I'm sorry brother, been spending more time researching on the water than
doing anything else. I have been fishing so much offshore stuff, I
don't think I will be able to flip or pitch accurately anymore :-(.

It has been tough to find big fish lately (Smallmouth), it is nothing to
go out and catch 50 between 12 - 14" , but to get those 16" - 19" fish
(fish I need to win a tourney) it seems a bit tougher, I hit them here
and there, but I cannot lock them down at all, and I definitely cannot
catch them consistently.

Anyone have any tips for finding those bigger smallies this time of year
on a natural lake? I spend a ton of time on offshore reefs, transition
areas, and humps and flats near spawning areas.

Most of my time is spent drop shotting, throwing tubes, and crank baits.
I have a couple other techniques I use as well, but they are for more
specific situations.

Not sure how to liven things up here. Maybe we could all start doing a
day on the lake type thing, we just pick a lake in our area we haven't
ever fished, or haven't fished in a while and pretty much attack it and
detail what you did? I don't know, just a thought.

Take care all,

Chris

Well, post more to give something to discuss! I had a boss that said "If
you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem."

You want a little excitement.... Wolk, I can out fish you with a Mickey
Mouse rod and reel, using a one of the Goat man's stretching things, and his
knot thingy as my lure! Ok, keep it clean.... there are kids on here.

Don't give Goat man any ideas, he'll patent them & call them "inventions"...
