Default OnT - Posted with Joy -- News from Henry's Fork

From the Summer report of the Henry's Fork Foundation
http://www.henrysfork.com/ ( no HTML version available, that I could
find ). Speaking of IDFG electroshocking surveys,

"Their final estimate was 2,636 trout 6 inches or longer in the Box - a 30
percent increase over last year's figure and a 60 percent increase over
2003."

Given some help from Winter water deals brokered by the HFF and from Nature,
the HF looks to be rebounding. Those Box Canyon figures are very close to
the South Fork figures, BUT, the SF has 5 times the water/ flow, so density
is much greater.

The Box is well documented to drive/supply the trout populations a little
down stream, in my beloved Wood Road to Last Chance section, so this bodes
very well for the near future there.

It's always with great pride that I write my small annual check to HFF or
put on my HFF hat to display my membership.

..... fish can't exist without water and the HFF has worked tirelessly to
help Nature assure more vitally important Winter water to protect young of
the year .... it's starting to show the expected results

..... my kudos and my thanks, HFF.

Default per mile

"Larry L" typed

"Their final estimate was 2,636 trout 6 inches or longer [missed words go
here ] in the Box - a 30 percent increase over last year's figure and a 60
percent increase over 2003."

Somehow my typing fingers skipped over the fairly obvious "per mile" that is
the above estimate ... sorry to accidentally misquote
