Just some feedback on their customer service. Two of my favorite
spinnerbaits are the Terminator stainless series and Secret Weapons. I rarely use any other type. Well the problem with the Terminator spinnerbaits is that they always seem to lose a blade. Sometimes after repeated fish being hooked and sometimes just from casting. Well my last experience, I lost a blade off it on about my third or fourth cast, right out of the package!!! So I did something I usually never do. I complained to the compnay..by e-mail. I was shocked at how fast someone got back to me. I exchanged e-mails with a Joe K from their customer service department. Explained the situation and he was more than happy to replace any of the lures I had problems with. Unfortunately, if my spinnerbait breaks, or it lose's a blade it usually chucked to the side and another is tied on. ( Another reason I love my SW's. Just clip a new blade) as I have no time to mess with split rings and such. Anywhoo, I didn't have any laying around to send back to Joe and really just wanted to bring it to their attention. He said that they did have some problems with split rings from a certain manufacturer and that it has been addressed. I was happy enough with that. Today I went to the post office and low and behold, a whole box of brand new spinnerbaits was waiting for me with an apology letter and all. I was stunned. I figured maybe they would send me a spinnerbait or two, but a whole box? It's good to know that they will own up to any problems they might have and correct it so fast. The SW's I have and the terminator stainless series are by far the most productive spinnerbaits I own or have owned hands down. If I come across any problems with my SW's, I'll let ya know how their customer service levels are. So far the green goddess I have had for about 4 or so years is still kicking and catching fish. I thought terminator did a wonderful job taking care of business so I thought I would share. |

I have sent back numerous lures to various manufacturers and have always
gotten replacements, sometimes two-for-one, but never a boxful. I wish more anglers would send stuff back when they have problems. Collectively, we accept too much shoddy product and do not provide feedback that should be given. As a result, manufacturers can take us for granted and have no incentive to change. A prime example, in my humble opinion, is Bill Lewis lures. The Rat-L-Trap's hooks are arguably the worst pieces of crap that are attached to any lure, but we continue to make this one of the best-selling lures year after year. When we accept that fact that we throw away components from a brand-new product right out of the box and rarely complain or boycott, what incentive does the company have to make changes? The Jitterbug is my favorite topwater, but its components are total garbage. They might have been OK 75 years ago, but they don't cut it in 2006. This lure is unique, so I can't buy a substitute and have to fart around with one for a half-hour to make it usable. End of rant, I've stepped off the soapbox. "Alwaysfishking" wrote in message ... Well my last experience, I lost a blade off it on about my third or fourth cast, right out of the package!!! I've had the same problem with Terminators. I just quit buying them. I use a spinner bait by King Cobra Lures that employs a light wire arm on a heavy wire body that produces about as good as anything I've tried. I've still won the most money with SWLs so far (on a spinner bait) and I would probably buy more of them except I have a ton of them already. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

When we accept that fact that we throw away components from a brand-new product right out of the box and rarely complain or boycott, what incentive does the company have to make changes? You are so right on those hooks on the rattle-trap. I boxed all mine up over a period of a few years and sent the hooks back to them...All brand new! They probably reused them on new product again.... I'm sure that complaining would do good considering Fishing is a mutli-million dollar industry and as with anything else made in the U.S., there are corners cut to reduce production cost thus increasing profits. The "bottom line" is all that matters. With competition like it is in the lure market, lure makers, (other than Pradco), are all more than happy to help with any problems encountered with anything they sell. I do think the company handles problems on an "individual" basis though. I have dealt with Mann's here locally in Alabama as well as Berkley. Most are professional and accommodating but they all cant be perfect all the time and some don't even try to be..(Like Pradco). Its all about business and selling products and most companies with ANY sense, (other than Pradco), appreciate customer loyalty and compliments... End of rant here......(Did I mention i dont like Pradco?) |

I thought terminator did a wonderful job taking care of business so I thought I would share. My complaint is I sent back a Cordell Spot that separated from the eye on the first cast. Eye on the line, Spot in the weeds. retrieved the lure and sent it back. They sent me another lure. Should have been a couple of lures to cover the frustration and the postage to send back a defective lure. My wife wrote Coca Cola about some crappy tasting diet coke. Just sent the numbers from the can. She got back about 5 coupons for free 12 packs. That is the way to do business! |
