Default Pflueger Summit

Hey all, how is everyone doing? The winter has been very busy, but at
least the time has flown by, and my boat is just about banging on the
garage door to come out.
My question had to do with the Pflueger Summit Baitcaster. My parents
bought me one for Xmas and I was just wondering if anyone had any
experience with them at all? 10 BB, 7:1:1 gear ratio, so it is perfect
for the application I am going to use it for, but I had not considered
this reel in the past and just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks all,

Chris

Fish it hard and let us know. Since Pflueger is now owned by one of the
fishing conglomerates I hesitate to buy their stuff for fear of being
treated like a number if have a problem. I do have a bunch of other
Pflueger reels and I have to say their spinning reels do not hold up as well
for the price as Mitchel Daiwa or Shimano. On the low price end their reels
don't even hold up as well as the low similar priced Quantums.

I only have one Pflueger baitcaster. A President. Its a decent reel, but
for the price at the time I could have bought a Shimano Curado Super Free
and had a couple dollars left over. It has held up fairly well, but I don't
use it that much. A buddy of mine swears by the much cheaper Pflueger Trion
bait casters so take that for what it is worth. He owns several of them.

Its my understanding that Pflueger makes a lot of the private label reels so
they certainly know how.

Gee... I guess thats a lot of typing to just say I don't know anything
about the Summit. LOL.
