Well I broke down and did it, I've been putting it of for a year, I
finally convinced my wife "I NEEDED" this camera, although I have three other digital cameras. I got me a Cannon S2 IS . I've been playing with it since Friday, taken a little over 1,000 photos (just to get the feel of what it can do), and have done about 20 videos . It shoots through the water with the polarized filter I got with it, so I could get some decent lure action shots, I tried posting a short clip here, but I guess they don't allow video clips, here is a link just to the small video of a worm, it won't open my site, just download and play the video (1.7 meg) http://ezknot.com/worm1.wmv I really put too much action on that worm, I will shoot another with the proper wiggle to catch fish, not show just how much I can put on one The photo of the blue bird was taken at 50 feet. It has an Image stabilizer that really helps with the telephoto shots,(12X optical + 4 Digital, 48X total) doing away with your hand wiggle, fuzzing up your pictures. Guys this camera is really something, and they have dropped the price from around $500.00 to about half that now if you shop around. It's worth every dime of it. There are better cameras out there I am sure, but not for this price. Right now I can't see where I will ever need a better one (well, until next year anyway :-) The only real thing I don't like is the movie format which is AVI, that takes 10 times more memory than WMV. It's easy to convert it over on the computer to save space, but it uses all you SD card space up in the camera in a hurry -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Mojo SpecTastic "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread, Nutri Shield insect repellent. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |

Does it use conventional batteries or a proprietary rechargeable? -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

AA's :-) Of course the rechargeable NIMH are the best, but any will work if your batteries die while away from a charger, You get around 500 photos on a charge of NIMH I have a 1 Gig SD card in it now, from one of my other cameras, but I will be receiving a 4 Gig 150X card today Here is a "review" page on the camera http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/ca...hot_s2-review/ It's not perfect , but it is great -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Mojo SpecTastic "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread, Nutri Shield insect repellent. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |

I have run across a lot of great deals on cameras with some pretty impressive specs in the last couple years. Unfortunately a lot of them use a proprietary rechargeable battery pack. Basically guaranteeing that it has a short use to paper weight cycle. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
