I'm going deep sea fishing!!!! Woo hoo!
Never been before and I'm considering taking my Steve Huber Custom rod and Curado reel spooled with 50lb braid... whatcha think? Everything is included in the trip, and I wonder if they'd let me use my own rod... it's got a hell of a warrenty anyway. Here's hoping that I don't get sea sick... haven't been on a boat or fishing since last June. |

You don't say what you're going for, but I wouldn't call a curado a deep sea reel. You could hook something big and watch your nice reel explode all over the deck. If you're susceptible to sea sickness, get yourself some antivert or some such, and take it as directed-- which is WELL BEFORE you're in a situation where you might get sick-- which is well before you even get near the boat. If you have real seasickness problems, get a prescription for transderm scop and put it on the night before. -- Scott Reverse name to reply |

I was kidding about the rod Steve, but if I were to ever go tarpon
fishing.... I'd consider it. Hope you live a nice long time Steve... with or without my rod warrenty. "Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers" wrote in message ... Hi Charles, They'll let you use your own equipment most likely, and I have no doubts about the rods I build, but I have to ask why? First of all, sal****er is hard on gear and you'll have to douse it down and flush it out thoroughly when you're done. Secondly, depending on how you'll be fishing, you might run out of line before you even hit bottom, and finally, remember, that warranty, while it is a "lifetime" warranty, is based on MY lifetime. Want to take bets on that? ;-p -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

![]() snip Here's hoping that I don't get sea sick... haven't been on a boat or fishing since last June. Charles to avoid the presumption of seasickness just drink 6-8 shots of tequila before boarding. That way know one will know if you're seasick or not. Works every time ! ![]() But again, where ya going and all that? If you are in the Gulf and no storms it will most likely be like Priest on a windy day. I have fished out of Gulf Shores a bunch and the worst day was during a storm with 6-8 ft. seas, fish blood and vomit all over the deck. Now that's fishin' ! "Charles Summers" wrote in message . .. It's an over the counter seasickness remedy that works like Dramamine, but doesn't make you nearly as tired. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

Tarpon are 150lb+ fish that don't tire quickly. You would do better with a lot of other ocean fish than a tarpon with a light rod. Dan |

Might be a good idea to take a reel with some mono on it also just in case. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Don't bring the curado, it's not made for sal****er, you will ruin your
reel. very important to take the sea sickness pills a few hours before you go. If you have never been sea sick you won't like it.
