The weekend before my buddy (Frog) and I floated he was down sizing up the
river and did a day float. He took the photo of the hung drifter from the road. It doesn't look like that tough a spot, however there is a large boulder behind the boat that is concealed and a very narrow slot to hit due to barely submerged rocks/boulders. They obviously didn't hit it. This section of river is better suited for a soft bottom boat. If you zoom in, you can still see a fly rod in the knee brace. Major suck factor. It was gone when we floated the following weekend and everyone made it out okay. We hung many of these guys over the 4 days were floated, largest was 22 inches. Great trip, missed the salmon flies, but had a great #18 pink albert from 2 - 4 and a #16 - #18 black caddis the rest of the time. Tight lines, JT |
