Default Bad day for the kid...and me!

I managed to get through to John's cell phone early this morning....he,
and the family made it out of Romona, Ca., and they were sleeping in his
truck outside of San Diego. His house, another truck, and a boat were
left behind...directly in the fires path. (he got his sponsors truck and
boat out...I suppose they will be happy about that).

But at least I am pretty sure they are alright...haven't been able to
get through to him all day!

I am watching the town I use to call home going up in flames...I have
many friends there, and I could use an extra prayer or two for all of
them!

That's a pro alright. Better than a lot of pros in fact.

I very much hope his home survives. My oldest daughter and her husband live
in Ramona. The inlaws house is gone. They do not know about Connies. Came
back from a week in Long Beach dog sitting for oldest daughter. We came up
101 and the winds near Malibu were at leat 50+ mph come down the draws. We
spent part of yesterday on Lake Cachuma and hard to see one end of the lake
to the other because of the smoke. Did land 2 small bass. Spent the night
in Solvang and most of the smoke did not clear up until Pismo Beach.

Worse comes to worse I got a couple old camp trailers parked here at the
house.
=======

Thanks for the thought Bob! John has a lot of fishing buddies in the
area, so I think he will be alright....still waiting to find out about
his home though.

I might take you up on the "offer" though, next time I come out west.
I would sure like to fish that little hidden lake just above "White
Rock"!
