Default Steelhead in Ohio (ping asadi)

I have responded privately to Tim's question concerning steelhead in Lake
Erie and wish to apologize for taking so long. Things have been rather more
scattered than usual for me lately.

If anybody else ins interested we'll make a mini clave out of it...

Tim, your e-maill bounced so my reply to you is pasted herein as if fully
rewritten.

Hey Tim, I've been totally tied up and unable to enjoy life in the manner
in which I have become accustomed, but things are maybe breaking free a
little bit and I can start to relax.

Yes, I am up for steelheading. Although I have never tried PA, I would like
to, however, I don't think it really matters where a person goes, it's going
to be combat fishing and the quiet solitude of the trout streams is not
going to be there....

In any event, to only be able to go in the weekends can really put a cramp
in things....even more masses yearning to smoke salmon....!

Basically, I get 48 hours off at a shot and to extend that time in either
direction requires me to take some time off work. In any event, let's go
fishing.

Ads I understand it, steelhead will often move at night and begin to hole up
as dawn breaks. I am not opposed to being on the water before you can see.
For fly fisher persons that would probably be better.

There are some sleep cheap motels in the area, or I have a travel trailer we
could use. Plenty of heat and such but we would have no running water. If we
stay at a park (Geneva on the Lake state park?) we would have electric and
could park right across from the bath house for water.

I could take off work Friday night and we could be on the water Sat morn.
And Sunday morn.

A site I visit is the steelheadsite.com .

It seems good numbers of fish are present. I haven't paid a whole lot of
attention to the water levels, but when the water is up a bit, the smaller
feeder streams and tribs are good fishing too, that helps when getting away
from the crowds.
I have really weird schedules. For example, the earliest I could leave on a
Friday (without burning up a days vacation would be 7 PM.) Or, 7 in the
morning on a Saturday.

Already the year is fast escaping, but if you would give me a date or two
that you might like to go I'll see what I can do on this end.

If you should by chance come up with some time in the middle of the week, I
am actually more flexible time wise.
