I've been trying to learn Lake Talquin, just west of Tallahassee, for
the last few months. The one thing I have learned is that the wind blows every time I am on the lake. The wind didn't keep me from catching about 8 bass Saturday morning, including this 3 pounder: http://home.comcast.net/~olebiker/102607Talquin.jpg I caught a couple of fish on a white spinnerbait early, but then switched to an Aruku Shad and the fishing really picked up. I even caught a bluegill that wasn't much bigger than the bait. I usually object to spending big money on lures, but I have been catching some fish on this one, so I guess its worth it. I remember balking at paying $2.15 back in 1964 for an original Rapala. I literally caught hundreds of fish on that one lure. Dick Durbin Tallahassee |
