Default what is a triploid??

seems my article references do not work so thought I ought to explain what a
triploid is---they are from treated eggs and are unable to reproduce. they
grow bigger [ no energy lost breeding] and are now stocked in waters across
the nation--a and overseas.Salmon, trout. steelheads etc are all raised this
way.
