Default Tagging my Flies for GFS2008

I have read the fly swap FAQ but still have some questions on how to
tag my flies. I got them finished up last night and need to know how
do some of you tag your flies? I know it says not to use string to
attach the labels due to tangles when shipping. So what is the best
method?

I print them from a word processing file, "laminate" them with heavy
book tape both front and back, cut them down to size and poke the hooks
through the edge of the tag.

Heh, this dude adds Cutter numbers to the tags as well. Marked up in
xml.

Wm (who uses the print/tape/poke method as well, sans Cutter :-)

There isn't really a *best* method. For 90% of flies I've received,
just sticking the hook through a piece of stiff paper is sufficient;
and that's all I ever do. Tape, laminating, even tying them on is
fine. The only reason I cautioned against string is because I got a
large set once that was a bird's nest of tangled tags, strings, &
flies. For 14 flies, I wouldn't worry about it.

I tyed on TMC 206 BL (BarbLess) hooks; so the hook through the paper is
not an option since the hook falling off the paper would be the next
stage. :-|

I bought small ziplock bags (1"x2" I guess) printed labels to insert
with pattern and tyer coordinates and put a fly in. Since I tyed CDC
emerger, no hackle, fly, I didn't need to be that carefull with it. Did
the same last year with my Gold Bead Head Casual Dress nymph.

Hope this help. :-)

finished mine yesterday. damn near killed me, but the sacrifice
will be worth it to my fellow tiers.

my pattern is a size 16 nymph called "bloody mary". it's most
effective worked slowly and deep from mid morning until noon.

I'll know tomorrow. Haven't made it to the PO box yet this week.
