Thanks Peter. I always knew there was a connection between Yankees fans and
herring FRTs.

Thanks Peter. I'm now in the middle of blowing an entire morning reading
back columns of Dave Barry's stuff. There's even one column where he
mentions Stanley, Idaho:

Long ago I went fishing with the company First Sargent on a small lake in
Alabama. He took me out and showed me what a "bream bed" smelled like. Very
distinctive smell, row arount the lake untill you smelled a bream bed and
then you catch fish. Now I know it was fish farts.

I have been fishing in a river teeming with sheepshead, a species of
freshwater drum. They make a frog croaking sort of noise (a rather
flatulent sound, come to think of it) that you can hear coming through
the bottom of the boat. They will croak while you are unhooking them,
their body vibrating so hard that you can barely hang onto them!

um...jim roberts, a/k/a pamlico jim, describes a bream bed in much more
erotic and pointed (!!) terms. made my tongue swell bigger than the
nipple on my elbow.
