I am going to Nashville this week to watch the Early Times Whisky Reel
In a Million contest on Friday and Saturday. Staying at the Opryland Hotel. Thinking about dragging my boat up a couple of days early and fishing around there. Do any of you know anything about that hotel? Is it boat friendly? Anybody want to fish Wednesday afternoon or Thursday if I go up early? Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |

That's a nice hotel Ronnie. I don't imagine it being too "boat friendly"
other than a secure place to park your boat. You will be close to Percy Priest plus Old Hickory, and the hotel is real close to the Cumberland River and adjacent to BPS. I'd like to join you in the boat but have to work both days. Have a safe trip. JP "Ronnie" wrote in message ... Accccccccccccccccccccccck ! Ronnie sorry we missed you. We were there at
same time. Spent several days on PP with mucho fish. Actually we couldn't buy a bite in many of our usual areas but got on an emergent shallow weed pattern and tore em up on Friday. Fishing was ok Thursday and we started the pattern. Judy and I had some ten or so fish that day. Took my sister's neighbor out (he used to be in a club in Memphis) and we smacked em. We had close to 30 fish in the boat Friday with many keepers and a couple of jumbos. Nothing really big but a few in the 3-4 lb range. I have Several good reliable areas on the upper lake/Stones River section. You have my email address drop a line any time. -- God Bless America Josh The Bad Bear |

Sorry I missed you.
I fished with Kevin Wirth on Friday for about three hours - three of us got 12 bass, some of all three species. Did youi see the Early Times boat? On Saturday Kevin took Jeff Abbott, the winner of the contest, out. Jeff is a sal****er fisherman. We watched him from the chase boat catch his first bass ever. By the end of the day he had landed a bunch including a 5 pounder. No tagged fish tho. Most were caught on the lower lake on main lake structure in 8 to 10 feet of water. I decided not to drag my boat up there. After staying at Opryland Hotel I am glad I didn't. That place is huge! Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |

Ronnie,
We didn't see the boat. I rarely fish the lower main lake mostly because of the pleasure craft traffic. I know we'd catch bigger fish down there on ledges and deeper water, but we usually catch 3-4 lb range fish up river and that's plenty fun for us if you throw into the equation that we get pretty good numbers. Last year we went in June on a full moon and blasted the fish with crazy legs frogs and buzz baits. We go down a couple times a year. Next trip will prob be mid Oct. If yer gonna be in the area give a holler n come katch some with us ! Write me at my email address so we have yours. Charles n Joe have it. -- God Bless America Josh The Bad Bear |
