Default Color FF recommendations needed

Need recommendations for a color FF in the $500-$700 range.

What is the difference between the dual frequency skimmer and the
straight 200 kHz skimmer?

Seriously considering the Lowrance X510C or X515C but some reviews
question their reliability.

Will I regret not getting a unit with GPS?
I fish our local tiny lakes here in San Diego County so I thought it
might be overkill.

Thanks

I have had good luck with Garmin, but in your price range you should be able
to get a nice GPS/Map and FF.

I think I might be more interested in spending some extra cash on the
Crumingbird 3d imaging side finder. I don't like the way Crumingbird does
business, that's an awfully cool setup.

Bob,

I ended up getting a Lowrance 522C iGPS.
http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/...LMS-522C-iGPS/

I will hook it up soon and try it out on the lake.
So far I just hooked up a little gel cell and messed with the settings.
So far so good.
