Default A visit from the Jultomten

Good things, they say, come in small packages. And there one was on the
front stoop yesterday. Mindful of the times we live in, I sent the dog to
sniff. He soon walked away, indifferent and apparently unharmed. So, after
soaking it overnight in a bucket of water, I opened it. "Holy ****", quoth
I.

"What?", inquires the disembodied voice of Becky from the computer desk in
the other room.

"Come here and look at this", sez I.

"Pretty......what is it?"

"Fly reel......and not just any fly reel.....that there is a Loop lw series
fly reel."

"Hm......pretty", and back to the computer she goes.....clack, clack, clack.

I hold the reel up to the light, turn it this way and that.....look at the
manual, fiddle with the drag, and notice that it's set up for right hand
retrieve. I begin to disassemble the reel to switch it to left hand
retrieve.

"What's that company you order stuff from?"

"What stuff?"

"You know, that fishing ****."

"Um......Cabela's?"

"Yeah, that's the one", clack, clack, clack. "What's the name of that reel
again?"

"It's a Loop lw 4seven."

"O.k.." clack, clack clack......"HOLY ****!"

I took the reel out on the lawn, put it on my old Fenwick, stripped the line
and backing off my Orivs reel, and proceeded to spool it on the Loop. I
practiced stripping line off the reel and winding it back up on the front
lawn for half an hour. The neighbors are afraid.....they peek out from
behind the curtains. I am awestruck.

Thank you, Roger!

Wolfgang

Don't always make it to those that they are supposed to! I hate to inform
ya 'ol buddy, but that is my reel. Apparently, bein' a furriner and all
that, Roger didn't realize that the US is divided into 50 states, thus
fillin' in Wisconsin on the "ship to" section, where he meant to put North
Carolina. Needless to say, you can just repackage that reel and send it on
home.

Thanks for puttin' it thru some warm-up casts!

Wolfgang

INDEED!

Op --for ever grateful to ya, Wolfie--

What a maroon! I can't believe he fell for that old trick. I bet he's
already put the thing in the nearest corner mailbox!

Thanks for puttin' it thru some warm-up casts!

Yeh I know. That's what my friends said too. But then again, your help was
invaluable =)
Glad you liked it!
God Jul!
