"I think an ideology comes out of feelings, and it tends to be
non-thinking. A philosophy, on the other hand, can have a structured
thought base ... There is a constant interplay between WHAT DO I
THINK and WHY DO I THINK IT ... Ideology is a lot easier, because
you don't have to know anything or search for anything. You already
know the answer to everything. It's not penetrable by facts. It's
absolutism."
-Paul O'Neill-

Excerpt from _The Price of Loyalty: George W. Bush, the White House,
and the Education of Paul O'Neill_ by Ron Suskind.

Read this and couldn't help but think of David "Ideology Sucks"
Snedeker.

"Roff in print?"

That would have been the headline in today's on-line Washington Post:

"Hopes for Civility Are Dashed".

Nah, there never was any hope. ;-)

No collection of curmudgeons, grouches and cantankerous, opinionated
old farts need be civil. Wouldn't be natural, or even interesting.
Those who hope for civility don't last long in this zoo. Someone once
said it has something to do with Darwin, I think. ;-)

From someone who regularly chastises people for rudeness!
