On Kauai I Only found one guide - Rob Arita - wading 4 hr trip
but you can easily wade yourself Follow the Surfers and stay careful and mindful of the tides and swells The dominanrt fish for flies are Bonefish which you sight cast to As I am an old mo fo I could not see them - my eyesight was never great anyway So I definitely needed assisatance If you want the #'s for all e-mail me direct There was one guide w a boat on Oahu (Capt Mike) plus a few others for wading = I can get names and #'s here also There may be a fly shop in Oahu I can hook you up w Rob Provost who knows his way around but - We would not go back to Oahu perhaps Molokoi next trip My plan on retirement is to study more music and to fish more - 2-3 big trips a year- one certainly in winter to a warm weather place - one trip w grandkids one w fishing friends Tell your friend to bring an old pair of sneakers unless he wants to buy flats boots I used an 8 wt and cloesers - shrimp and crab imitations Some real beautiful flies I found the 27 miles of undeveloped shoreline in NW Kauai to be one of the most lush and beautiful places on this planet We went over on a sight seeing heli trip You can easily see how this was paradise for the Polynesian peoples until white people and civilization came Fred Fred |
