oops - got the wrong date yesterday!
Wednesday - April 13, 2011 - day 26 Water had come up another two feet or so overnight. After a two hour fog delay we ran to a bridge near the launch - partner said he had caught two good fish, a five and a six, off it on Monday. When the boat came off plane he got deflated - water had gotten very muddy. We fished that area and some flats where he had caught fish but the mud made him feel like we were wasting our time. We never had a bite. Ran to the cuts where I had caught fish and the water was still a good color - but the fish were gone. I got one 14 inch bass but that was it - we hit all of them but just could not catch anything. We both zeroed for the day. At weigh in of the 28 fishermen in my flight there were 11 zeroes. But fish were caught - one guy had 19 pounds, another 17, but it dropped fast. About ten pounds was in tenth place. Tough day for most everybody. Georgia team was in dead last place - only five or six had a keeper on teh 14 man team. Very disappointing. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |
