Have just returned home today from a 9 day RT to Seattle, and while there
decided to take the north Cascades route back across Washington state to check out the snow pack, cricks and other flora and fauna. Absolutely gorgeous weather blessed my travels and the mountains were as spectacular as I remembered them. I spent last Thursday nite in a forest service campground on Early Winters creek, being lulled to sleep by the rushing water just behind my campsite. Some pics posted on abpf. Frank Church ...who refuses to feel guilty for being paid to do this stuff. ;-) |

![]() "Frank Church" just back from across Washington state: Frank, that last picture of the creek was especially wonderful. Did you think the snow pack, on your trip, looked a little skinny? We seem not to be getting the snowfall we need out here anymore. Chris 'Padishar Creel' Fanning |

Frank, Whereabouts do you live? I'm in NE WA. We should compare notes (though I've only been here a few years, so don't have that much experience yet......) I'm looking at the Clark Fork next month, you been there? Jim (who doesn't feel guilty for having summers off....) |

I'm about 70 miles from Spokane myself, and seldom head that direction (south). I prefer the 'rural' locations. ...been to Clark Fork, The Yellowstone and another who's name escapes me just now...that is I-90 crossed and recrossed those rivers. Ain't fished 'em yet. I was impressed with the Yellowstone south of Livingston when I was there two years ago. Absolutely beautiful. I think we would move there if we could find jobs to bridge us to retirement... I haven't been in Indiana since the '70s during my truck driving days. I stay pretty much in the 11 western states (+ AK) by choice... Jim |
