Default Penn 525 Mag

Most of the techniques described on the net for casting with this reel
involve using a shock leader. Is there anyone out there who casts this reel
with level line throughout, and if so, suggestions as to which line to use
would be appreciated. (cast weight 4oz). Also is there and change in
technique required when dispensing with the shock leader, other than not
being able to apply as mush pressure during the cast?

Many Thanks
Brian
