Default Waterfront home for sale - Northeastern Wisconsin (Shawano, WI)

Sadly my mother has to sell her waterfront home on the Wolf River in
Shawano (northeastern) Wisconsin. This is a wonderful home for a
family that loves water sports and would like to live in a nice small
town. Shawano (population about 8,000) is under 1 hour commuting
distance to Green Bay, Appleton & the larger towns of the Fox River
Valley. House is in a quiet neighborhood near shops, schools and
churches. Lot provides unobstructed panoramic river views in a park
like setting with big shade trees and gorgeous sunsets. Location is
between 2 dams so there is no flood danger and the river is wide
enough for water skiing and dingy sailing at the house. A navigable
(small boat) channel gives water access to Shawano Lake (one of the
state's larger lakes) from the house. Recreational opportunities from
the door & dock include: fishing, swimming, canoeing, rowing, water
skiing, skating, cross country skiing, bicycling (cross state bike
trail is 3 blocks away). In winter down hill skiing is available about
40 miles away. Note for canoeists & kayakers: flat water paddling at
house, a short drive north gets you to white water put ins on the
Northern portion of the Wolf with federal "wild and scenic river"
designation and other white water rivers. Haul your canoe about 1
block from the house and put in "below the dam" for a nice afternoon
float or go all the way to New Orleans! Note for sailors and
windsurfers: sailing is not popular on Shawano Lake but it has great
potential with good summer winds and nice chop for windsurfing. When I
was a kid we kept a sailboat moored on a buoy at the lake and would
take the runabout through the channel from home to go sailing. The
river is a bit narrow for it at the house but you can windsurf or sail
a dingy there. If I could live there now I would set up a pontoon boat
as a windsurfing "mother ship" and run it out to the lake on good
days. DO NOT EMAIL ME - PLEASE CONTACT MY MOM'S REALTOR DIRECTLY:
Terry Hilgenberg (Coldwell Banker)
715-526-6148. Ask for information about "804 Pine St. Shawano,
Wisconsin".
