Some of the finest lures made are for the muskie fisherman, a lot of them are
handcrafted, they can be very pricey, names like believer, joe bucher, leo lures, eagle tale, sledge and suick,.i know of a bait shop that carries them and i was going to take a look at them, would basspro carry them, basspro is coming in Nov, i've never been to one, i was wondering if a slightly downsized version of such lures would be good for bass, would there be a high end market for handcrafted wood bass lures, |

John
There already is a high end market for hancrafted wood bass lures! As for down sizeing them....ever see a bass "eat" ![]() I target mainly smallmouth. I've seen them surface to hit my jointed rapala. The jointed rapala is always smaller than what i would use for pike. Pike will go after a 2 lb or better fish. the lures i use for pike are larger, muskie are not presently my target but they would be in the same category as pike, muskie lures are known to be larger, i have a whole box full of them, i guess thats why i am saying a downsized version for bass, i'm not convinced that the high end market is as developed for bass as it is for muskie, of course i'm speaking of handcrafted wood lures |

Warren, That's funny! When I was out there last month, I was looking
through John's custom lures for big bass....I would have been proud to have some of those "lures" mounted on my wall ![]() John (go-bassn) What's the matter with you John? Warren, You'd be amazed at the numbers of bass, both largemouth and smallmouth that I catch every year throwing muskie lures. Sometimes it is true that big fish do eat big lures. BUT.....the flip side is equally true, you couldn't believe the size of fish that eat small lures. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

"basspro" or "Outdoor World" won't put up with your ****. Stick with your
favorite chain store who will tolerate your fraudulent returns... You must be a glutton for punishment. Every post you make, no matter how
inoffensive, results in catcalls, derision, and taunting by a bunch of yahoos, and when I try to defend you in a very small way, or put them in their place, I get the same. The hell with it. You're on your own. This newsgroup is more a personal message service for about a dozen people and the occasional idiot who never posts unless it's to hack on Lurebuilder, with the neverending threads asking/answering the same questions week afetr week. And fwiw, all the bass I've ever caught fought less then a perch half their length and 1/4 their weight. You can have 'em. You wanna talk killfile? Here's my killfile-- I'm deleting this group from my favorites. There are other fishing newsgroups less snobbish than this place. And since I know it's coming but won't be reading it, good riddance to you too. |
