Default How often do i change my line?

Hi, Just a quick question

How often do i have to change my line? i understand the obvious,. the
visible damage and what not, but is there a general rule as to roughly how
often u should change it? i been told 3-4 times a yr but i not convinced as
to why u would need to. Can anyone help me out? (fishing times would be
about once per month, a weekends full)

thanks

Unless there is obvious damage or deterioration, once a year should be OK in
normal circumstances. Serious match anglers and hard casters change it more
often. I even know some anglers just reverse it at the end of the year,
exposing line that hasn't seen daylight and using it for a second year. I
assume we're talking about nylon line, braid lasts indefinately as it doesn't
deteriorate, just wears. Cheers, Norman.
