Default Curado 3.8:1

Anybody have the slow retrieve Curado? If so, how do you like it and what
do you use it for? I was thinking about getting one for a crankin' rod and
maybe a swimming worm rod. I like the faster retrieve for regular worm
fishing so I can take up the slack, but it seems like I could put a slower
retrieve to work. Am I just looking for an excuse to buy another reel, or
is there some merit to my lust?

Thanks.

You always need a good (or not so good) excuse to buy another reel.

If you like to throw big, deep diving cranks, this reel will be great for that
application.

It will also slow anything else down you are doing.

Consider the fact that you can always slow down a fast reel retrieve, for
whatever presentation, but you can't speed up a slow 3.8 reel if the fish
decides to come at you.

Hmmm, who do I like better, you or Eric?....I think I like Eric better, you
make too much sense.

I have one of the 3.8's solely for the fact that it is a slow reel. I tend
to get in a hurry too much, especially near the end of a long fruitless
tournament day. When that happens I can make myself slow down by either
dropping a CR (which I tend to naturally fish slow) or using the 3.8 to move
a crankbait deep and slow. For me its necessary, for others with more
determination I imagine they simply just slow down. Anyway, that's my
opinion- to which you might add $1.25 and you'll have a cup of coffee.

My 5.1:1 is too slow for me... can't imagine anything slower.

While learning to fish senkos [worms in general] I had to remind myself to
slow down but this didn't always work . Sometimes after fishing for several
hours without a bite I would become inattentive and loose myself in watching
the eagles or deer or just anything besides my line and my presentation
would slow down to a craw .Without fail I would start getting bites.
Thinking about this for a while I decided that a 3.8-1 was the answer and it
helped my bite rate by going to a slower retrieve reel. They aren't for
everyone but worked for me
