Um, OK, this stem-cell thing is getting silly. For those that haven't
seen the quotes, here they are, and I suspect this might just cause a swing toward Bush, at least until the Bush campaign's next ****-up: At a rally in Newton, Iowa, Edwards stated that if Kerry is elected, they "will stop juvenile diabetes, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and other debilitating diseases" and will enable the crippled to "get up out of that wheelchair and walk again," He also said, "We will do stem cell research," "We will stop juvenile diabetes, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and other debilitating diseases," and worst of all, "If we do the work that we can do in this country, the work that we will do when John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve will get up out of that wheelchair and walk again..." A couple of things from my point of view: 1.) At least Bush is sticking to his position on this, even seemingly knowing it is probably a voter turnoff to a varying degree, and 2.) Kerry and particularly Edwards are beginning to sound like Miss America contestants-turned-politicians. I can hardly wait for the "John Kerry and John Edwards have a plan for world peace in 24 hours or less!" and the "John Kerry and John Edwards have a plan to give everyone everything they might want, desire, or imagine within a week of taking office and pay for it with two shopping carts of aluminum cans..." speeches. Of course, on the flip side, the transcript of Cheney's call to Liddy and Segretti ought to be a hoot, too... R |

Still working for Shrub and his gang of theives huh. Go back and get the
quote right, it sounds different when you include the dozen or so words right before it. Rush probably didn't have them on his website or newsletter so you wouldn't know where the hell to get them. \ wrote in message ... Um, OK, this stem-cell thing is getting silly. Oooh, another one...OK, Beeg, ol' buddy - google up "newton iowa edwards speech stem cell research" and see what comes up. It seems that very few seem to think like you....thankfully. Unlike you and many others, I can acknowledge GW/Cheney isn't anywhere near perfect while seeing that Kerry/Edwards makes them look a lot closer to it. One more time: I've never said Bush and Co. is the best possible choice, only the best in a field of two. If the REAL Dems had control of the party and put forward someone with some honor and integrity, things might be different - they aren't, they didn't, and so, we are where we are...or really, you are where you are...and now, you can take your top-posting, tin-foil hat wearing ass back to wherever it is you keep your top-posting, tin foil hat wearin' ass... |

I did read the speech. Note the six words that preceede what you quoted.
"We will do stem cell research," he vowed. "We will stop juvenile diabetes, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and other debilitating diseases. America just lost a great champion for this cause in Christopher Reeve. People like Chris Reeve will get out of their wheelchairs and walk again with stem cell research." The remark was made in referenece to bush ban on stem cell research. It was misquoted ( or partially quoted ) by Drudge and echoed by thousands of Carl Rove wannabes ( yourself included ). How many pro Bush post are you obligated to make to pay off your pickle debt to Haliburton? wrote in message ... How many pro Bush post are you obligated to make to pay off your pickle debt to Haliburton? 16 and half...well, unless I get folks to post inane replies, and then I get credit based on how asinine the reply is. Based on you alone, they now owe me 14,712 posts. Might I suggest you ask Mr. Cameron about sloppy seconds (or thirds, should muskie take my advice first) on his goat - I'll defer to rw's knowledge on THIS as I have no personal experience, but I'd bet that all things considered, the goat would be at least somewhat satisfying and a lot less strenuous than continuity putting your head up your ass... |
