Default Replacing old electronics

Again I need advice. I have decided to replace my worn out Lowrance
electronics with Garmin. I would like your input concerning a GPS/Sonar
single unit versus split units.

I have one boat with a Garmin 168 and its not bad. My other boat has a
Garmin 240 side by side with a Garmin 176.

I have to say even though the screen on the 176 is smaller its really nice
to have seperate screens for each. I have tried switching the 168 back and
forth, and I currently have it on split screen. I still prefer having a
seperate GPS and sounder better.
