Like you're the first one ever to suggest *that*. ;-)

Nah, we're stuck with him. He can be amusing so long
as you realize what he's doing here. Wolfie is not here
to converse with you, politely or otherwise, he is not
here to argue, debate or discuss anything, Wolfie is
here for only one thing and that is to pleasure himself.

There are many intelligent people here, one of the things
that make this rec. Usenet newsgroup stand out from the
others is simply that. This place sends the dim, the dumb
and the witless screaming into the void, some call it
Darwinian. Most here wear their erudition lightly, very
lightly. We have a lot of PhDs, for example, and most are
loath to even mention it. Wolfie however, doesn't wear his
not inconsiderable erudition lightly, rather he brandishes
it, he flourishes it, he concocts almost unreadable bombast
and twisted word puzzles to rub it in your face for his
own amusement.

As to why Wolfie does this, I'll leave the psychoanalysis
to others, although Dave Snedeker's observations are certainly
true. It should be sufficient to know that he stands just
over 5 foot small and there's no one on earth who loathes
Wolfie more than Wolfie.

That's the short course anyway, roff is full of smart people
and Wolfie gets all turgid in the presence of smart people.
So long as you know what he's up to, he can be entertaining.

Well and roundly rebuked. Nicely done.

Hm.........you know, it occurs to me that your advice might be one of those
one size fits all thingies........worth thinking about, anyway.

Yeah, you're right. In any newsgroup, if someone is using bandwidth for no
relevant topical purpose, they should go elsewhere and find a the relevant
group. So yes! One advice - fits all! ;o)
