This winter I plan on finally learning to tie my own flies. Something I have
wanted to do for years, but never got around to it. There is a place not far from my home that is offering a two day starter course for a reasonable price that will have about 15 or so students enrolled. The brochure states that students must bring their own vice/tools to class - OK - no problem. My question is what are some manufacturers names that you guys might recommend. I know that Renzeti has a very good name, with a price tag to match. I don't mind spending the money on a Renzeti, if it is in fact called for. I have seen some other manufacturers out there like Griffin, and Barracuda for considerably less money, but still not considered cheap. Does one have to spend top dollar to get a decent vice? I fly fish 30-40 times a year, and I use streamer flies a lot, if that info makes any difference. Thanks in advance. |
