Default Pictures from my season's first trip

Went to fish the first hatch of the season. Found the hatch but
couldn't find any fish. The weather was great though. Glimpses of the
atmosphere are available at

Thanks. Those are some lovely waters. My favorite, though, was the last,
of flies on ice.....

Trout or no trout, that's some beautiful country, Jarmo.

Hi Jarmo,
Thanks for the visit. I really enjoy boulder/rock type areas.
Hmm. . . there, I can sometimes get by with more errors . . . make that
difficulties . . .make that challenges . . .make that opportunities . .
..than I can in that crazy flat water stuff. ( but I love a slow take in the
flat water)
From the pics it like it was still nymphing and kinda midge weather there .
.. .of course I no nothin' about your area of the woods. (but I got trees and
streams and you got trees and streams . . .so how tuff can it be?
Just rain this morning where I live, but there seems to be a lot of that
snow stuff not far west of me. The Interstate (main highway . . . a couple
lanes or so each way) was closed about an hour drive west of me this
morning. These guys driving big trucks seem to tip over a lot in the snow
around here, when they get between 10,000-11,000 feet or so in the "hills"
around here. But they seem to squish themselves at lower elevations as
well, but I suspect it is still the "hill" kinda thing mostly, and .
...brakes.

Denver
(glad you got out . . .heck . . I got all these truck drivers out here, with
no brakes . . . and I'm sure I'd get annoyed if they"flew" into a bit of
stream/river I was fishing. . . well, okay . . .sometimes they just roll
around a bit . . .but it seems they sure put off the fish . . .for a bit)

There's a dam above this section of the river, and it's manually
controlled. It causes a lot of problems - I guess when you combine
manual control with farmers' need for free time the result is a
severely nonoptimal control algorithm, from the point of view of the
fish.

In any case, for the past 3 or 4 years I've always started my season
here because I like the place so much. During the rest of the season I
seldom go there, if ever.

Gives new meaning, even to a Minnesotan, to the term "ice fishing."
