Default wtb: 9'5wt

having "gone to paree" by attending this year's western clave, and
optimistic enough to entertain the possibility that i might live long enough
to attend again next year, and having learned that madison river winds can
make short work of an 8'4wt hardy with a 3" long salmon fly at the terminus,
i am in the market for a used 9'5wt.

since i am blessed with impeccable taste, my first choice would be,
obviously, a thomas.* however, if someone has an alternative offering that
doesn't include one of those freaking lamp posts carrying the inscription
"sage", i would be pleased to consider all comers.

Sorry my man, don't own one. I did once, a Diamondback VSR but I sold
it -- big mistake. Should've kept it. If you see one, buy it.
Shouldn't be expensive. Call Waldo, he might be able to get a line on
one.

It's a "fast action", relative to other Winston's, but by no means
stiff. Very smooth, progressive action.

An inquiring mind would like to know what is *telephone polish* about
the Sage SLT 9 foot 5 weight rod please? I'd really like to know
because I am on the verge of acquiring one. If there is a better one
out there I'd like to know and would appreciate enlightnment from this
august ROFF group.

Thanks.

I have two 9' 5 wts, a Wright & McGill Granger Aristocrat
3 piece, two tip and a Sage RPL 590-4 (4 piece). The 'boo
is slow and delicate, the Sage is one of the fastest rods
I own. Both of them see a lot of use out west, but go ahead
and make an offer. ;-)

Impeccable taste can be a curse. Suggest trying a Powell Ultra or Ultra
Lite. Might even be a few blanks left floating around.

I have the following 9' 5 weight rods that i would consider putting up for
adoption.

T & T Vector 9' 5 peice Frank R found it too slow for him, Apparently Mr.
Epps liked it but wanted to hang on to his wallet.
Diamondback All American 9' 4 pc (labeled as a 5/6 wt)
Winston DL4 9' 4 piece.

Let me know counselor
