Default Crossposting

My blocked senders list is getting longer and longer. Any person who cross
posts is automatically sent to it. Whether they are replying to a cross
poster or the cross poster themselves.

You need to be a little cautious. Nearly all of the crossposts are from the
usual suspect under four or five different IDs, sometimes even replying to
himself. If he follows his usual pattern he will begin to forge genuine
poster's sender addresses as soon as he reckons enough people are
killfiling.

And -just- killfiling on crossposting without taking notice of follow-up
settings means you include the ones who are trying to temper the flood.

Why worry, it is a lot less here than I have seen in other places?

All you have to do is ignore them, if they do not get answered then they do
not get perpetuated.

It is the same with the off topic thing, as this is really, well we all have
the ability to write what we want and it is down to everyone else to ignore
it if they want. The only exception is when it is a flame or illegal when it
should be reported to their ISP if it is possible. Most of these people do
it get a rise out of you and by highlighting it they have done what they
wanted and won.

While what you say may be right, if nobody replied to such cross-posts they
wouldn't become a problem.
