Its not just Kansas anymore....I wonder what coming back to pretty much
anywhere in Jesusland would be like. If it ain't the Creationists with
their Intelligent Design agenda, its the Destructionists with their
Terrorist Behind Every Tree agenda.

How was the adjustment to coming home, JR? Was there anything to it?

This is the sixth time over the past 26 years that I've returned to the
States after a period of a year or more living overseas. Each time
before was easier than the previous one..... until this time. That's no
doubt partly because leaving Italy ain't quite the same as leaving Zaire
g, but also because this country has truly changed, in disturbing ways....

I always found I had more culture shock when I came back, than when I
went foreign. I am sure that it would be even more so these days.
Folks just seem more wound up and short fused these days. I just
returned from a quick trip to Walmart, and all the shoppers have this
wild look in their eyes. Looked more like a war zone, than a holiday
scene! OvO
